Un show télévisé filmé au Shubert Theatre de Los Angeles en 1973. C'est une soirée hommage à Duke Ellington qui réunit des invités prestigieux, le gratin des chanteurs et chanteuses de jazz, rhythm and blues, ... ainsi qu'un orchestre composé de l'orchestre du Duke et quelques musiciens de studio travaillant sur la côte ouest, une section de cordes et des chœurs, le tout dirigé par Quincy Jones.
